Psalm 14

“The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any that act wisely, that seek after God” (14:2)

The Word of God is repeated as a rhetorical question by Jesus in the Gospel according to Luke, when He asks of His disciples, “when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8).

This He asked upon telling them the parable of the persistent widow, whose persistence for justice is related to the reader to remind us that God guarantees the rights of His people who call out to Him night and day. He will not be slow to answer us. But this rightly begs the question. Will we persist? Will we not relent in faith that God will answer our prayers?

The Lord is daily, hourly, right now looking down from heaven upon us. Are we acting wisely? Are we seeking God persistently?

Let us begin today.
